The session was led by Sufyan Al Khaldi, a Jordanian-American global technology leader and entrepreneur, who shared insights from over two decades of international experience across the United States and the region. The discussion emphasized the importance of youth empowerment, structured thinking, and aligning entrepreneurial ideas with national economic priorities.
A central theme of the session was EMV 2033 as a roadmap for Jordan’s future economy. Students were encouraged to view the Vision as an opportunity map—identifying intersections between their academic backgrounds, innovative ideas, and EMV growth drivers such as future services, high-value industries, tourism, sustainability, and skills development.
Jordanian Think Tank Initiative
As part of the session, a pilot youth innovation concept titled the “Jordanian Think Tank” was introduced as a framework to encourage students to translate ideas into structured, market-oriented initiatives. During the session, nine student startup ideas were presented, reflecting a wide range of innovative thinking and national awareness.
The initiative aims to promote disciplined innovation, mentorship, and exposure to private-sector execution standards, with the broader objective of supporting youth-led entrepreneurship aligned with Jordan’s economic priorities.
Mr. Al Khaldi highlighted that the Think Tank concept is designed as an open and adaptable platform that can be applied across different academic institutions and innovation environments, encouraging broader participation from universities, youth communities, and stakeholders interested in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.
Youth Empowerment and Future Outlook
The session underscored the role of Jordanian youth as a key engine for innovation and economic transformation. Emphasis was placed on the importance of leadership mindset, continuous learning, and understanding global frameworks while remaining rooted in Jordanian identity and national interests.
Mr. Al Khaldi noted that empowering youth through structured innovation platforms and private-sector engagement is essential to complement ongoing national reform efforts and to translate vision into tangible outcomes.
The event reflects a growing interest in creating collaborative spaces that bring together students, innovators, and industry leaders, and opens the door for future initiatives, partnerships, and similar engagements with universities and institutions across Jordan.
