Omar Salameh, spokesperson for the Ministry of Water, confirmed that the Disi water project supply will be suspended from Sunday morning until Thursday morning, lasting 96 hours, to carry out scheduled maintenance works aimed at ensuring the continuity of water pumping.

Salameh said in a press statement that the planned suspension will affect 53 areas in the governorates of Amman and Zarqa.
He added that the ministry has taken necessary measures to ensure sufficient water supply for the affected areas during the suspension period to meet the needs of citizens and subscribers.
Salameh noted that double the usual quantities of water will be pumped in the week following the suspension to compensate for the shortfall during maintenance. Water pumping is expected to resume on Thursday morning according to the regular rotation schedule.
He urged citizens to take necessary precautions and prepare adequately during this week by storing sufficient water to meet their needs. He also noted that the Disi water project was built under a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) system, with the operating company responsible for running the project, maintaining its facilities, and performing regular maintenance to ensure continuous operation throughout the year.
