Four drug smugglers killed on Syria border

AMMAN — An operation in the eastern military region resulted in four smugglers killed, a number of individuals injured, and the escape of others into Syria, according to an official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces Arab Army. اضافة اعلان

The source explained that the Border Guard forces, in coordination with the security services, and the Narcotics Control Department, spotted a group of individuals trying to cross the border illegally from Syria, with the support of armed groups. The smugglers were dealt with immediately.

The source indicated that inspections and searches were done in the area, and 637,000 Captagon pills, a large quantity of weed, and 39,600 Tramadol pills, were seized. Alongside, an AK-47 which was transferred to the specialized authorities.

The source stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces will be firm in dealing with any infiltration or smuggling attempts, in order to protect the borders and prevent those who try to tamper with Jordan’s national security.

The Jordanian Armed Forces have thwarted many infiltration and smuggling operations since the beginning of 2022, contributing to limiting the entry of narcotic and prohibited substances into Jordan.
