— Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman
Safadi is set to lead a delegation in the third round of the Jordanian-Japanese
strategic dialogue on Monday.
This
comes ahead of King Abdullah's visit to Japan next month, the Jordan News
Agency, Petra, reported.
Safadi
is scheduled to meet with Japanese prime minister, Kishida Fumio, and other
Japanese officials to discuss relations between the two countries. They will
also delve into a number of regional and international issues, including the
Palestinian cause and efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis.
Jordanian-Japanese relations
In
addition to the meetings, Safadi is set to deliver a lecture on Jordanian
foreign policy at the Middle East Institute of Japan. He will also speak with
the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan about Jordanian-Japanese relations,
Jordanian foreign policy priorities, and the Kingdom's efforts to resolve
regional crises.
Jordan
and Japan agreed to hold strategic dialogues between their respective foreign
ministers on a regular basis since November 2018.
The
dialogues aim to discuss mechanisms for developing ties and coordinate
positions on regional and international issues of common interest.
