According to a statement by his ministry, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi received a phone call from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during which the two ministers built on the talks they had recently held in Washington over the serious conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Safadi and Blinken reviewed the actions and efforts aimed at stopping the escalation, with Safadi stressing the need stop the aggression on Gaza and all illegal and provocative Israeli practices in the West Bank and in the holy Al Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif.

Safadi stressed the importance of the US role in ensuring respect for the historical situation of Jerusalem and its holy sites, stopping settlement and deportation, implementing the two-state solution, and securing the Palestinians’ right to live with the same degree of security and safety Israelis enjoy.

The two ministers agreed on the need to stop the escalation and achieve sustainable calm.

Safadi expressed the same position in talks with UK Foreign Minister Dominic Raab. Safadi stressed that the only way to end the conflict is through a two-state solution in accordance with international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
