Jordan’s External Patrols Department seized two vehicles on the Zarqa–Azraq road in recent hours after they were caught exceeding the speed limit. One vehicle was traveling at more than 200 km/h, while the other was recorded at 203 km/h, despite the posted speed limit of 100 km/h.

Captain Ahmad Al-Shatti, an operations officer with the External Patrols Department, said Monday that traffic on the kingdom’s external roads was active and generally flowing smoothly, with no significant obstacles reported.
The Irbid–Amman road is experiencing heavy traffic from the capital toward the northern governorates, while traffic in the opposite direction is moderate. The Development Corridor is also seeing heavy traffic in both directions.
On the Desert Highway, traffic was moderate toward Aqaba from the Ras Al-Naqab area, while traffic in the opposite direction was light but occasionally became busier. The Zamilah area was experiencing moderate traffic in both directions.
During the same period, external patrols responded to a collision involving three vehicles beneath the Al-Ghabawi Bridge on the Mafraq–Amman road. The vehicles and road obstructions were removed, and the road was reopened to traffic.
Al-Shatti urged motorists using external roads to comply with posted speed limits and designated lanes and to avoid distractions, particularly mobile phone use.
He noted that patrols continue to be deployed to assist road users, who can request assistance by calling 911.
