This decision is part of the Authority’s vision to improve quality of life through its social responsibility, by empowering civil society institutions to play their role in delivering the best services to citizens in various fields—especially to persons with disabilities—and integrating them into society in alignment with ASEZA’s objectives and vision for the local community.
The Board also approved support and sponsorship for the Asian Fencing Championship, which will be held for the first time in Jordan, in the city of Aqaba, at the exhibitions and conferences center. The tournament will feature participation from over 20 Asian countries and include competitions for all age categories, from under 14 years to veterans over 40 years of age.
This decision aligns with ASEZA’s vision to host international sports events in Aqaba as a means to promote sports tourism, helping attract diverse groups of tourists and positioning Aqaba as a global destination for sports tourism.
Additionally, the Board approved a package of regulatory and administrative decisions related to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
