Engineer Suhaib Bani Younes, Issa’s cousin, stated that a major collapse occurred during the recovery operation, which created significant challenges due to the decomposition of the body and repeated landslides that posed a serious risk to rescue teams.
He added that the recovered body part was examined by the public prosecutor and forensic specialists and has been transferred for further testing. A final decision on whether to continue recovery efforts will be made later today.
Bani Younes confirmed he had seen the recovered portion of the body, praying for God’s mercy on the deceased and offering his condolences to the family.
It is worth noting that Issa Al-Tu'mat, a resident of Beit Yafa in Irbid Governorate, was working as a driller in Aqaba when he was buried by soil while inside a 60-meter-deep well. Civil defense teams were able to reach a depth of 50 meters during the search operations.
