The number of international tourists arriving in Jordan during the first four months (first tertial) of the current year decreased by 5%, reaching 2.014 million tourists.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, the number of overnight tourists arriving in Jordan fell by 7.8% to reach 1.627 million during the same period.
The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) had previously indicated a 27.2% decline in tourism revenues during April 2026, dropping to $517.1 million. This decline was primarily driven by a decrease in tourism receipts across all nationalities.
Consequently, tourism revenues during the first four months of 2026 decreased by 10.4% to stand at $2.17 billion, compared to an increase of 15.3% that reached $2.43 billion during the corresponding period in 2025.
The data reveals that during the first four months of 2026, tourism revenues from expatriate Jordanians dropped by 19.5%, American nationals by 17.1%, European nationals by 13.1%, Arab nationals by 3.3%, and other nationalities by 13.2%.
Furthermore, the figures showed a 12.9% decline in tourism expenditure abroad by Jordanians and residents during the first four months of 2026, totaling $562.6 million. For the month of April 2026 alone, outbound tourism expenditure recorded a 33.7% drop, falling to $103.0 million.
Accordingly, net tourism income during the first four months of 2026 decreased by 9.5% to stand at $1.61 billion.
