This decision aims to strengthen ASEZA’s efforts, in collaboration with its partners, to enhance marine protection programs, prevent maritime accidents, and ensure rapid response measures. It involves upgrading equipment, infrastructure, and systems at the center to improve its efficiency and readiness.

Urban Master Plan 2040
Under the Urban Master Plan 2040, the Board approved the initiation of a study and design for the infrastructure network in the Northern Recreational Zone, assigning Aqaba Development Corporation to implement the project. The goal is to improve citizens’ quality of life by creating an integrated recreational and sports environment that serves all age groups in a safe and engaging setting.

Recreational and Sports Projects
The Board also approved the leasing of land for establishing recreational and sports activities in the same zone. This project aims to host both local and international sports events, further solidifying Aqaba’s role as a key hub for entertainment, tourism, and sports in the region.

Cultural Empowerment
A decision was made to register a cultural association within ASEZA to engage in economic activity and benefit from the investment incentives offered by the Authority. This supports ASEZA’s vision to empower civil society institutions and encourage the organization of international cultural exhibitions and conferences, thereby promoting Jordanian cultural and artistic identity in alignment with the region’s development goals.

Tourism Promotion
In support of tourism, the Board approved organizing a three-day entertainment event in Wadi Rum to attract approximately 1,000 international tourists. Additionally, ASEZA will support and sponsor the Ayla Aqaba Asian Triathlon Championship, which will host 120 Jordanian athletes and 150 participants from 25 Asian countries.

It also approved sponsorship of the Wadi Rum Desert Night Marathon, expected to feature 70 runners.

These initiatives are part of ASEZA’s strategic vision to establish Aqaba as a global destination for sustainable recreational and sports tourism, attracting diverse tourist segments and enhancing the region’s international profile.

Entrepreneurship and Local Community Development
In the area of youth empowerment and innovation, ASEZA will sponsor a specialized training program titled “The Young Journalist” for students aged 12–16 in Aqaba. This initiative aims to foster media literacy and journalistic skills, encouraging creative thinking and responsible media engagement among young learners.

All these decisions reflect ASEZA’s commitment to sustainable development, tourism promotion, cultural enrichment, and community empowerment in Aqaba.
