On Monday, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, Eng. Ziad Al-Saida, and the Director General of the National Electric Power Company, Dr. Sofian Al-Battania, conducted an inspection tour of the facilities of the Central Electricity Generation Company in Aqaba to assess the operational readiness of the power generation system in preparation for the upcoming summer season.اضافة اعلان

The tour included a visit to the Aqaba Thermal Power Station, where the delegation reviewed the operational facilities, fuel storage and handling facilities, and listened to a technical presentation from company officials about the performance of the generation units, reliability and efficiency indicators, and future plans to improve technical and operational performance, ensuring continuity and efficiency in electricity supply.

During the tour, Minister Al-Kharabsheh emphasized that the government is committed to supporting the stability of the energy supply through infrastructure development and enhancing generation efficiency, noting that the readiness of the electrical system is a national priority.

Al-Kharabsheh also highlighted the importance of continued effective coordination between all relevant entities in the sector to ensure meeting the growing demand for electricity, particularly during peak periods, and providing the needs of various sectors according to the highest reliability standards, in line with the sector's strategic goals and vision.

For his part, Eng. Al-Saida confirmed that the Commission regularly monitors the technical performance indicators of the power plants to ensure they adhere to the approved standards, which enhances electricity supply security under various operational conditions.

He added that the joint coordination with the Ministry of Energy and electricity companies ensures the system's readiness and enhances the ability to anticipate challenges and effectively deal with emergency situations and the increasing electrical loads.

The tour was also attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Electricity Generation Company, Dr. Moayed Al-Samman, and the CEO of the company, Eng. Muwafaq Al-Alawneh.
