Customs Department Issues Circular to Regulate Unified Fee Refunds for Postal Parcels
The Jordan Customs Department issued a circular on Wednesday to regulate the refund process for unified fees on postal parcels.

According to the Department, the circular aims to organize cases where unified fees have been collected on the contents of incoming postal parcels purchased through international e-commerce sites via authorized express courier companies. It outlines the procedures for refunding these fees upon proof that the parcels have been re-exported or returned outside the country.اضافة اعلان

The Department clarified that these regulations apply to incoming personal postal parcels purchased online with a value not exceeding 200 JOD, which are subject to the unified fee.

The Department added that refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the fee payment date, and the fees will be refunded within 60 days from the date of proving the parcel's exportation.

The circular noted that if the parcel owner requests a refund, the contents must be of foreign origin and in their original condition as received. In cases where the owner fails or refuses to receive the parcel and the fees were pre-paid by the courier company, the courier may submit the refund request. In such instances, the contents must remain of foreign origin and in their original condition, and the parcel's packaging and seals must be intact.

Regarding the required documentation for a refund, the Customs Department specified that the following must be presented:

A copy of the inward bill of lading (Inbound Waybill).

Proof of fee payment.

The outward bill of lading (Outbound Waybill) containing export endorsements.

The purchase order for the contents. (Express courier companies are exempt from presenting the purchase order if the refund request is submitted by them).
