AMMAN — The Jordan Customs Department (JCD) has demonstrated a high level of professional vigilance after successfully intercepting several major smuggling cases. The Anti-Smuggling Directorate, in close coordination with the Customs Intelligence Directorate, seized a diverse array of illicit goods intended for the local market.

Sophisticated Concealment Methods
Among the most notable seizures were approximately 4,000 liters of alcohol discovered in two separate operations. In one instance, the contraband was found professionally concealed within a water tanker specifically modified for smuggling.
The department’s comprehensive enforcement actions also resulted in the seizure of:
60,000 liters of diesel fuel.
4,000 cartons of cigarettes and 21 tons of shredded tobacco.
31,000 pieces of counterfeit apparel and various other pirated goods.
Narcotics Interception at Queen Alia Airport
In a parallel operation, the Customs Clearance Center at the airport—working in strategic coordination with security and regulatory authorities—foiled an attempt to smuggle significant quantities of narcotics. The seizure included 16 kg of marijuana and 250 liters of liquid synthetic drugs.

The confiscated items also included around 60,000 liters of diesel fuel, 4,000 cartons of cigarettes, and 21 tons of shredded tobacco, in addition to various counterfeit goods, including 31,000 pieces of clothing and other smuggled items.
In a related operation, the Airport Customs Clearance Center seized a quantity of narcotics, including 16 kilograms of marijuana and 250 liters of liquid narcotic substances. These operations were carried out in coordination with relevant security and regulatory authorities.
