Al-Shammari told "Al-Mamlaka" that the project requires between three weeks to a month to be completed, including the installation of a new traffic light. He noted that the project's cost ranges between 80,000 and 100,000 JOD.
He emphasized the full cooperation between GAM personnel and the Traffic Department in the field around the clock to ensure smooth traffic flow, pointing out that some traffic congestion in the roundabout area is caused by motorists failing to give priority.
On April 10, the Greater Amman Municipality began removing the Applied Science Private University Roundabout to replace it with a modern four-phase traffic light system, as part of its efforts to enhance road safety and address traffic bottlenecks at the site.
GAM confirmed that the demolition work for the reconstruction of the roundabout was carried out according to technical and engineering studies under the supervision of specialists. It noted that the demolition of the 39-meter-high pillar was completed as planned within the perimeter of the roundabout.
The Municipality clarified that no material or human damages were recorded, contrary to what was circulated on some social media pages and websites, stressing that its teams are continuing their work at the site.
