U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon and never will, adding that Iran wants to reach a deal and that the United States is engaging to prevent them from acquiring nuclear capability.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office at the White House, Trump added that it would take Iran a long time to develop a nuclear weapon following the strikes launched against its nuclear facilities, asserting that the U.S. maintains total control over the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. President noted that Iran has not made the deal he deems necessary, adding that Iran is in deep trouble, in a state of chaos, and its military has been completely defeated, while clarifying that Washington is not seeking to extend the memorandum of understanding with Iran.
The U.S. President also affirmed that oil prices will continue to drop during the coming period.
