During an inspection tour on Tuesday in the governorates of Ma’an and Karak, the minister reviewed progress on several vital projects and their completion rates. He emphasized the government’s commitment to managing financial resources allocated for capital projects in the best possible way, aiming to improve service quality for citizens and stimulate economic activity.
The minister began his tour by reviewing the condition of the Ma’an–Mudawara road, where the ministry completed maintenance work on three key projects to enhance road efficiency and improve traffic safety.
He also inspected the maintenance and rehabilitation project at the Mudawara Border Center in Ma’an. The completed works included insulating the roofs of passport buildings for arrivals and departures, officers’ accommodations, customs housing, the one-stop service building, General Intelligence Directorate housing, and the axle load building. The project also included upgrading sanitary facilities and installing air conditioning systems, contributing to improved working conditions and facility efficiency.
The tour included a visit to the Ma’an Military Hospital project, located next to Al-Hussein Bin Talal University. The hospital has a capacity of 150 beds and a total area of approximately 29,700 square meters, including the main building and service facilities.
The hospital project has reached about 97% completion, with testing and operation of electromechanical systems underway, along with calibration of air conditioning, water, and medical gas systems by a third party, in preparation for its handover to the Royal Medical Services to begin furnishing, equipping, and eventual operation.
In Karak, the minister reviewed the expansion and reconstruction project of the Mahi–Al-Abyad road, which is 15 kilometers long and costs around 5 million dinars. The project has reached approximately 86% completion and aims to fully reconstruct the road, adjust its alignment, and build drainage culverts.
Abu Al-Samen stressed the need to intensify work to complete the project within the next two months.
