In a statement to Al-Mamlaka TV on Thursday, Misto noted a clear increase in the number of travelers, with the airport recording 25,000 passengers last Monday, just 3% below the usual daily average.

Misto expected passenger numbers to continue rising in the coming period, as many airlines resume operations to and from Jordan.

He stated that 28 major airlines currently operate flights to and from Jordan, adding that most have resumed full operations at Queen Alia Airport, with a gradual return of the remaining carriers.

He pointed out that about 55% of passenger destinations to and from Jordan include Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Egypt, and Turkey, where air traffic is functioning normally. He added that Gulf airlines resumed their flights to Jordan last week.

Qatar Airways announced on Monday the full resumption of its air operations to Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria, following the lifting of restrictions on the use of regional airspace.

In a statement, Qatar Airways confirmed that it would resume its full flight schedule to Queen Alia International Airport and Rafic Hariri International Airport in Lebanon, along with services to five destinations in Iraq. The airline also announced it would resume flights to Syria starting July 6.
