The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission announced the issuance of operating permits for 40 airlines that have commenced operations for the winter season. These include national, regional, and international carriers, with two additional airlines expected to join during the season, further expanding destination variety and increasing air traffic to and from the Kingdom.
According to official figures, these airlines will operate approximately 996 weekly flights through Jordan’s various airports, providing travelers with broader choices and greater travel convenience.
Foreign airlines will connect Jordan to 28 countries via 66 routes, including new European, Asian, and regional destinations. Meanwhile, national carriers will connect Jordan to 31 countries through 55 routes, supporting the national carrier’s role in enhancing air, commercial, and tourism connectivity.
These figures indicate significant expansion in the route network compared to previous seasons, alongside growth in international partnerships and scheduled flights, keeping pace with the rising demand for travel to and from Jordan.
In terms of air cargo, five specialized cargo airlines will begin operating flights connecting Jordan to 11 countries via 18 weekly flights, improving freight flow, supporting Jordanian exports, and providing more flexible and efficient logistics options for industrial and commercial companies.
The Commission confirmed that Jordanian airports are fully prepared to handle the expected increase in air traffic throughout the winter season, with ongoing improvements in technical and ground services for passengers and aircraft, and the application of the highest aviation safety standards.
It also noted that air traffic is expected to grow further with the opening of Amman Civil Airport, as several airlines have already expressed interest in operating flights from there, which will expand capacity and enhance Jordan’s air connectivity.
The launch of the winter flight schedule comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve Jordan’s air links, support tourism and trade, and offer travelers more options through a broad and continuously growing aviation network.
