Speaking in post-match statements, Al-Rashdan noted that the team delivered an outstanding performance in front of their fans and aimed for a win. Yet, conceding two goals from set-pieces cost them the match. He emphasized that the players will work on learning from and correcting these mistakes in upcoming fixtures.

"We were aiming for a win, but that's football. God willing, we will learn from our mistakes in the next match," Al-Rashdan added.

He explained that the team showed great strength during the first half and succeeded in creating numerous chances. However, a lapse in concentration and some physical fatigue during the second half impacted their performance, with minor details ultimately playing a decisive role in the final score.

Regarding their participation in the World Cup, Nizar pointed out that the team delivered high-level technical performances over the two matches but lacked the luck to secure positive results. He stressed that the tournament provided the players with invaluable experience and crucial lessons that will help develop their performance in future competitions.

Al-Rashdan concluded by reaffirming that the team will benefit from this current experience, looking forward to bouncing back and delivering better performances in the future.

Al-Rashdan’s remarks came following the national team’s 2-1 defeat against Algeria, despite the Nashama leading in the first half with a goal scored by Nizar Al-Rashdan himself in the 36th minute. The Algerian team managed to overturn the deficit in the second half through Nadir Benbouali in the 69th minute and Amine Gouiri in the 82nd minute.

The national team will conclude its group stage campaign against Argentina next Sunday, while Algeria will face Austria in the third and final round.
