AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) continued to raid drug dealers and promoters. It thwarted attempts to smuggle and promote narcotic substances in the northern Ramtha district and the capital Amman, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

In a statement on Thursday, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said AND foiled attempts to smuggle, and promote drugs during the past few days, arrested culprits, and seized narcotic substances in their possession.

The official added that the AND agents arrested a drug dealer in possession of a large number of narcotic substances that were found buried on a farm.

In another raid in the same region, the spokesperson noted that the joint security and AND team arrested a wanted person on drug cases in possession of large quantities of narcotics, firearms, and ammunition after the AND investigators tracked the suspect and spotted his whereabouts.

In the third case in Amman, AND raided a suspect's house on drug cases in an area east of the capital and seized 13,500 Captagon pills, seven palm-sized hashish sheets, two firearms, and ammunition.

Meanwhile, in the fourth case, the AND was tipped off about two people who promoted and traded narcotic substances south of the capital, Amman and arrested the duo in a raid. In addition, a quantity of Captagon narcotic pills was seized, two palm-sized hashish sheets, drugs prepared for sale, and a firearm.

A vehicle arriving from a neighboring country was seized at a border crossing in cooperation and coordination with Jordan Customs Department (JCD) and security services. The official noted that a number of narcotics were found inside an electric oven, and three suspects were arrested in the case.
