According to government data highlighting the Ministry of Justice’s performance in its first year, 5,115 alternative penalties were implemented between September 2024 and September 2025.

The remote trial project, enabled by modern technology, helps reduce costs previously borne by relevant authorities and the state treasury by minimizing the need to transport inmates. This is achieved through a video link between courtrooms and correctional and rehabilitation centers.

The year also witnessed a notable expansion in the application of alternative sanctions through community service, alongside enhancements in digital justice systems and improvements in service quality for citizens.

The ministry issued 839,616 certificates of good conduct, completed 487,515 notary public transactions, and applied electronic monitoring bracelets to 311 cases, thereby strengthening judicial efficiency and aligning with modernization goals.

In addition, 286,270 citizens benefited from the electronic payment service within a single year, while a total of 65.8 million judicial documents were digitized and archived electronically as part of the justice sector’s digital transformation efforts.

Among the ministry’s key achievements were the launch of digital signature services for judicial documents to ease procedures for citizens, the National Strategy to Combat Human Trafficking, the National Plan for the Rule of Law, and the National Criminal Justice Strategy.

The ministry also launched a comprehensive e-services portal featuring 46 services, including 11 dedicated to courts, inaugurated the Jerash Palace of Justice, and expanded the Ma’an Court.

To accelerate modernization and build a robust digital infrastructure, the ministry began constructing its new central headquarters and initiated the document handover and archiving station as part of the judicial digital transformation project. It also formed a change management team for the digital signature initiative.
