AMMAN — The grand prize
of FIBA Asia Cup men’s flagship basketball competition, the trophy, will be
displayed in several countries over the next months leading up to the main
event, including Jordan in May for two days.

The trophy is what the 16 teams will be competing for in
Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 12–24.
The trophy will be making stops along different capital
cities of qualified national teams before it ends up in Jakarta, waiting for a
champion to be crowned, according to a FIBA press statement.
The championship cup, in its golden and silver colors,
landed in Lebanon — who was the last cup host in 2017 — as its first stop. The
cup will also pass through Australia, Bahrain, China, India, Taipei,
Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Japan, Iran, Syria, South Korea, and
New Zealand.
The Jordan Basketball Federation did not specify the place where the
trophy will be displayed. However, basketball fans will have the opportunity to
take memorial photos with the cup when it arrives.
