The transfer market for Professional Football League clubs is experiencing rapid momentum as the new 2026–2027 football season approaches, set to kick off next month with the Super Cup.

A number of clubs are dominating the transfer spotlight, most notably Al-Faisaly and Alhusein Irbid, who are engaged in fierce competition to bolster their squads with top local stars in preparation for upcoming domestic and continental commitments.
Alhusein Irbid is preparing to compete in the AFC Champions League Elite qualifiers, while Al-Faisaly is taking part in the AFC Champions League 2. This drives both clubs to seek technical options capable of enhancing their prospects and achieving their goals in the upcoming season.
Despite the financial challenges facing clubs in general, management boards continue their efforts to secure the necessary resources for signing high-quality players, aiming to raise the level of competition and achieve positive results across various tournaments.
The first registration window, which opened on the fifth of this month and runs until September 1, has seen notable activity from Al-Faisaly, Alhusein Irbid, Al-Salt, Al-Arabi, and Shabab Al-Ordon. Meanwhile, clubs such as Al-Ramtha, Al-Jazeera, and Doqara are taking a more deliberate approach before announcing their official signings.
The transfer market has witnessed several new deals. Alhusein Irbid successfully signed players Mahmoud Shawkat, Ahmed Tha'er, Salah Al-Farash, and Omar Hadar. Meanwhile, Al-Faisaly contracted Egyptian head coach Tarek Moustafa, alongside a group of players including Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Ehsan Haddad, Abdallah Al-Fakhouri, Anas Al-Awadat, Waseem Riyalat, Reziq Bani Hani, and Mohammad Haddad.
Additionally, Al-Wehdat announced the signing of head coach Waseem Al-Bzoor, while Al-Salt reinforced its technical staff by hiring coach Raed Assaf and signing goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Juaidi alongside players Mohammad Abdulmutallab "Pogba," Faisal Abu Shanab, and Suhaib Al-Qadi.
For its part, Al-Arabi signed head coach Emad Rashad, as well as players Yousef Al-Rawashdeh, Baker Kalbouneh, Ahmed Shdeifat, Yazan Al-Gharableh, Moataz Ubeidat, Mohammad Al-Hayek, and Ibrahim Al-Akhras.
Shabab Al-Ordon contracted Spanish-Colombian coach Carlos Alberto Echeverry, along with Palestinian professional Ali Rabai, Ecuadorian Michael Caicedo, Dominican Republic professionals Geordie Durán and Saúl Castro, in addition to Hamza Al-Shamali and Ismail Freihat. Conversely, Al-Baq'a announced the appointment of head coach Amjad Abu Taima as part of its preparations for the new season.
The transfer market is expected to witness a marked increase in competitive intensity in the coming days as the start of the new football season draws near. The upcoming season is anticipated to be strong and exciting, particularly as it follows the national team's historic participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
National coach Osama Qassim told the Jordan News Agency (PETRA) that the transfer market is currently witnessing remarkable competition among clubs, especially between Alhusein Irbid and Al-Faisaly, which boosts expectations for a strong season, particularly at the Pro League level.
He added that the scarcity of financial resources forces most clubs to rationalize signings. However, the available financial capabilities at Alhusein Irbid and Al-Faisaly give them a greater advantage in attracting standout players, pending the entry of other clubs into the transfer market to secure quality deals.
For his part, former player Qusay Abu Aliah confirmed that the national team's historic participation in the World Cup elevates expectations for a competitive football season.
He stated that the "Nashama" national team reaching the highest levels will motivate all players to give their maximum efforts with their respective clubs during domestic competitions to prove their worthiness of representing the national team, which will positively impact the technical standard of the league.
