AMMAN — Since 2007, the Toyota Camry Hybrid has been the first hybrid car in its class — the measuring rod and the standard of excellence in this category. After three generations of success and record sales globally, the Toyota Camry Hybrid comes stronger than ever, more comfortable and luxurious than ever, and most importantly, more economical than ever.اضافة اعلان

Design-wise, Camry relies on the all-new Toyota platform TNGA, which it shares with many new Toyota models. This base provides the quality and reliability that Toyota is known for, in addition to enhancing the values of driving pleasure and safety, which the new Camry Hybrid is sure to require in order to compete with full force in the saloon car category.

A striking element in the Camry Hybrid design is the change in the location of the car’s battery, which moved from the trunk to the bottom of the rear seats. Toyota engineers were able to do this thanks to the reduction in the size of the battery, which contributes to stability and balance.

The new Camry has a wheelbase of 2820mm, a length of 4880mm, a width of 1840mmm, and a height of 1440mm.

The design language that Toyota adopted in designing the new Camry is characterized by boldness, a departure from the mold of the conservative saloon, and the reversal of monotony. With only the Toyota logo as a constant, the Camry now parades an exciting and bold shape, with all-new body elements and a different font.  Placed in the center of the front, the headlights come with full LED technology, a striking modern design, and a large and focused lighting power. Alloy wheels come with a sporty design and in two sizes.  One of the most prominent features of the new design is the wide field of view at the front — a feature that enhances the driver's vision and thus his control and safety.

Internally, the design is just as distinguished. The cabin designers spared no efforts to enhance luxury and quality, going along modern lines. The great effort to break out from the traditional framework resulted in a dashboard with a sculpted and curved design. Luxurious and polished materials top the scene. The seats come with a new design with a luxurious leather cover. The central 20.3cm touchscreen is surrounded by elegant buttons that facilitate control of the entertainment and communication elements.

The air conditioning system is powerful and befits Toyota's reputation in this field, with separate control for the driver and front passenger. Another highlight is the Camry’s panoramic roof with its large opening. Connectivity features include the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a Bluetooth network for the phone and media, and wireless charging for phones equipped with this technology.

The hybrid system in the new Camry Hybrid comes with the second generation of the Toyota Hybrid System, which includes a nickel-ion battery, an inverter, and two electric motors, one of which exclusively stores energy in the battery, while the other supports the car engine in movement. Among the most prominent novelties in this developed system is the start/stop feature that completely disconnects the engines when the car stops. This contributes effectively to reducing consumption, while the smart control unit distributes the work of the electric motor and the engine in all phases of the car’s movement.

The gasoline engine generates approximately 169 hp and 220 Nm of torque, while the output of the electric motor is 80 kW, and the hybrid system produces a combined power of 208 hp, which means that the new Camry Hybrid gives much more power compared to the previous generation and strong cars of higher value premium brands. The transmission is via a CVT variable gearbox, which is equipped with a gearshift control feature that mimics the feel of a six-speed automatic gearbox. True gear shift lovers may not like this, but the Camry Hybrid's active and responsive performance negates any shortcomings in this type of gearbox.

The most important result of the hybrid propulsion system is its ideal and revolutionary fuel consumption, achieving a record rate equivalent to 5 liters per 100km. This is equivalent to half the consumption of similar cars in size and power.

The Camry Hybrid features an integrated safety system, starting with its structure targeting rigidity and shock resistance, with areas to absorb forces, and a set of airbags are available on the sides of the cabin to provide integrated protection for its occupants. The new Camry Hybrid has a complete set of electronic safety systems, most notably:  Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), and Intelligent Stop System (SST).
Toyota Safety Sense (TSS-P) is an advanced system that includes Pre-Collision Warning and Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping System with Steering Support LDA w/SA, Automatic High Beam System AHB, Cruise Control with Dynamic Radar DRCC, and Blind Spot Monitoring System (BSM) with RCTA.

The New Camry Hybrid impresses with the integrated package that it comes with, as it represents the most convincing option in its class and constitutes a continuation of Toyota's leadership in this vital sector of the automotive market.
