Al-Kharabsheh emphasized the strong fraternal relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, particularly the collaboration between companies operating in the energy sector, reflecting their shared commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships and implementing high-value projects that serve the mutual interests of the two brotherly countries.

The project is part of national efforts to meet the growing demand for electricity. The agreement stipulates the installation of five wind turbines with a combined capacity of 25 megawatts, fully funded by the UAE government, highlighting the strength of the Jordanian–Emirati strategic partnership, especially in clean energy and sustainable development.

Under the agreement, Masdar will provide technical supervision of the project, oversee its implementation, manage shipping, logistics, and related services, and prepare reports throughout the various stages of the project.

Al-Samra Electricity Generation Company, according to the agreement, will contract a specialized contractor to carry out the engineering, procurement, and construction works, with the contractor selected by Masdar.

The agreement also stipulates that Al-Samra will operate and maintain the project directly or through contracting, with the option to involve Masdar or any of its affiliated companies in operations and maintenance, at Al-Samra’s discretion.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is responsible for providing the land required for the project and securing all necessary approvals, licenses, and permits from relevant authorities in Jordan, ensuring implementation according to the approved plans and schedules.

This project represents a key step in diversifying energy sources and increasing the contribution of renewable energy to the national energy mix. It also underscores the strong Jordanian–Emirati partnership and the commitment of both sides to implementing strategic projects that advance sustainable development goals and Jordan’s energy security.
