Mamdani Admits He Has "No Legal Authority to Arrest Netanyahu"
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani stated in a new video on Tuesday that he does not possess the legal authority to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should he come to New York City.اضافة اعلان

In the video posted on the "X" platform, Mamdani said: "My administration reviewed every available avenue under existing law to determine whether the City of New York could enforce the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court if Benjamin Netanyahu were to come here. It is clear that we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant. However, the federal government does possess that authority, and I call on it to join the ICC and execute the warrant."

This video comes just days after Mamdani told The New York Times that he was working with his administration's legal team on how to carry out Netanyahu's arrest over alleged "war crimes," according to CNN.

U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the controversy via his platform Truth Social on Monday, stating that Netanyahu "will not be arrested, under any circumstances or in any way shape or form." (Agencies)
