He later held telephone conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss regional normalization efforts.

The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, conveyed the kingdom's stance on normalization with Israel in a press statement. While acknowledging the regional benefits of such normalization, Prince Faisal emphasized the necessity of achieving peace with the Palestinians.

He stated, "Without peace with the Palestinians, any normalization with Israel will have limited benefit, and we must focus on reaching a path that provides peace, justice, and dignity for the Palestinians."

Normalization with regional countries
Following his talks with Saudi officials, Blinken engaged in discussions with Netanyahu regarding the deepening integration of Israel into the Middle East through normalization with regional countries.

According to US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, the conversation centered on fulfilling the commitments made during regional meetings held in Aqaba and Sharm el-Sheikh. These meetings, held earlier this year in Jordan and Egypt, brought together Israeli, Palestinian, and American officials to discuss the prospects of a two-state solution.

Miller emphasized that Blinken underscored the importance of avoiding measures that would hinder the achievement of a two-state solution. The discussions aimed to encourage all parties to fulfill their pledges and work towards a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Blinken’s visit to Saudi Arabia and subsequent talks with Netanyahu signify a renewed focus on advancing the peace process in the region.

The international community, along with the US, continues to advocate for a comprehensive solution that addresses the concerns and aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians, ultimately leading to lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East.
