The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has accused Israel of implementing a deliberate and politically motivated starvation policy against the population of Gaza, calling it an act of “absolute cruelty.”

In a post on its official account on X (formerly Twitter), UNRWA stated:
“Deliberate, politically motivated starvation in Gaza is an expression of absolute cruelty. Hunger cannot be addressed by using humanitarian aid as a weapon.”
UNRWA further criticized Israel's proposed aid distribution model as being "far from meeting the catastrophic hunger needs" on the ground, and reaffirmed that humanitarian agencies are committed to delivering aid to all in need—without exception.
The agency also reported:
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza are surviving on one meal every two or three days.
Over 1,000 children are suffering from severe malnutrition.
Israel has blocked aid entry through border crossings for over two months.
UNRWA declared it will not participate in Israel’s aid plan for Gaza, citing its failure to comply with UN humanitarian standards.
