The agency stated that the two "Hadid-110" model drones were launched from the Iranian side and targeted both locations in the Pirmam district of Erbil Governorate.
Barzani stated that his personal office came under attack by Iranian drones, noting that the strike also targeted the residence of the Security Agency chief, while condemning what he described as "reckless and unacceptable Iranian aggression."
He added that the attacks represent a "dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the region's security and stability," affirming that they will not deter the regional government from continuing to perform its duties and protect the population.
Since the outbreak of the Middle East war in late February following a U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran, the region has been subjected to bombardment more than a thousand times, according to local authorities.
The strikes have varied between attacks claimed by armed Iraqi factions against U.S. interests, and Iranian strikes targeting Iranian-Kurdish opposition positions based for years in northern Iraq.
The Kurdistan Region of Iraq enjoys autonomous rule in the north of the country, with its constitutional status recognized by Iraq's 2005 Constitution. It encompasses the governorates of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Halabja, with its affairs managed by an elected government and parliament, and Erbil serving as its capital.
