Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz vowed on Sunday to launch powerful and fierce strikes following a major wave of escalation in southern Lebanon.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Katz emphasized that "all scores will be settled across all fronts."
He stressed that "the response will be forceful to protect Israeli soldiers and citizens."
Israel intensified the pace of its attacks on southern Lebanon, with its warplanes launching a series of airstrikes, according to Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA).
These developments come days after the conclusion of a seventh round of Lebanese-Israeli negotiations in Rome on August 6, aimed at strengthening security arrangements along the border and implementing the framework agreement signed in late June.
On June 26 in Washington, Lebanon signed a framework agreement with Israel and the United States following a round of direct US-brokered negotiations between the two countries.
Following the signing of the agreement, Netanyahu announced that his country would remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon "as long as Hezbollah does not disarm."
