During a meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who is currently visiting Egypt as part of a regional tour, Sisi emphasized the need for cooperation to prevent the region from sliding into a regional war with devastating consequences for both the region and its peace, Al-Ghad reported.

He stressed the importance of reviving the peace process and giving hope to the Palestinians in establishing their state along the 1967 borders. He added, "We all need to act to contain developments that may become uncontrollable in the region, with consequences that may go beyond the right to self-defense."
