Prisoners’ Society: Over 23,000 Arrests in the West Bank Since the Aggression on Gaza
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) stated on Sunday that more than 23,000 cases of arrest have been recorded in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, following the crime of genocide.اضافة اعلان

In a report issued on the matter, the PPS clarified that these figures encompass everyone subjected to detention—whether they remain in custody or were later released. This includes those arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those forced to surrender under pressure, or those held as hostages.

Breakdown of Detentions:
Women: More than 700 cases, including women from the 1948 territories and those from Gaza who were arrested while in the West Bank.

Children: Approximately 1,800 cases.

Journalists: More than 240 journalists have been detained since the start of the genocide; 43 remain in custody, including three female journalists. Notably, one journalist, Marwan Hirzallah from Nablus, died while in Israeli custody.

Escalation of Violations
The PPS noted that these ongoing arrest campaigns have been accompanied by escalating violations, including severe beatings, physical abuse, and threats against detainees and their families. Operations also involved widespread vandalism of homes, the confiscation of vehicles, money, and gold jewelry, and extensive destruction of infrastructure—particularly in the camps of Tulkarm and Jenin.

In addition to the arrests, occupation forces have carried out field executions, which at times targeted family members of the detainees. There has also been a surge in field interrogations, affecting thousands of individuals across various governorates in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
