Netanyahu’s office stated in a press release that “meetings and communications were held under Washington’s auspices on issues related to Syria, but they remained within the framework of preliminary discussions.”

The statement emphasized that “any talk of an agreement or qualitative progress in this process is inaccurate,” noting that the contacts were part of broader diplomatic efforts led by the United States in the region.

Sources indicated that Netanyahu felt compelled to issue this statement after Israeli media reported that he had refused to sign an agreement with Syria, which the parties had reached through U.S. mediation on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.

Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received a phone call from Syrian President Ahmad al-Shar’a.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the call reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in various fields. The discussion also covered issues of mutual interest, efforts to consolidate security and stability, and initiatives to support Syria’s economic recovery.
