Israeli ambassador to UAE reveals trade soars to $2.5 billion

DUBAI — The Israeli Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Amir Hayek, stated in an interview on Thursday, that relations between Israel and the UAE are currently at their peak on all fronts. He mentioned that trade reached $2.5 billion last year.  In the first seven months of this year, it reached $1.7 billion, and it is expected to reach $3 billion by the end of the year.اضافة اعلان

He also noted that there are billions in investments, and in the past year, over 1.1 million Israeli tourists visited the UAE. Hayek continued by saying that there have been more than 27 agreements signed between the two countries, with more than 100 agreements set to be signed in the near future. This also includes more than 106 weekly flights with the UAE and various partnerships across all fields in cybersecurity, renewable energy, technology, agriculture, trade, communications, and transportation, i24 news reported.

Israel and the UAE signed a normalization agreement on August 13, 2020, making the UAE the third Arab country, after Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994, to sign a peace agreement with Israel. The UAE was the first Gulf state to take this step, followed by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
