Israel’s political and military leadership issued a joint statement late Monday–Tuesday affirming that Israeli forces will continue operating to maintain the security zone in southern Lebanon.
The statement was issued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and the military leadership.
According to the statement, the security of Israeli citizens and military personnel will remain a guiding principle that is “not subject to compromise.”
The leaders added that Israeli forces will continue working to “neutralize threats” facing soldiers and civilians, dismantle infrastructure they consider hostile, and maintain the security zone in southern Lebanon.
The statement comes amid ongoing tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border and continuing regional efforts aimed at maintaining the ceasefire and preventing further escalation.
