Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced the conclusion of technical talks with the United States as part of the ongoing negotiations in Switzerland, which are being mediated by Qatar and Pakistan to end the conflict in the region, according to Iranian state media on Tuesday.
Iran’s official news agency IRNA reported via its Telegram channel that Gharibabadi, who headed the Iranian technical negotiating team, announced the conclusion of the discussions among the four participating parties and the achievement of an agreement on a framework for future negotiations.
The agency added that the parties also agreed to establish four working groups focusing on:
* Sanctions relief and removal
* Nuclear affairs
* Reconstruction and economic development
* Monitoring and implementation mechanisms
Meanwhile, Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that Tehran will assume responsibility for managing the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iranian media reports, Ghalibaf said: “The Strait of Hormuz will never return to the conditions that existed before the war, and it will be managed by the Islamic Republic of Iran in accordance with international law.”
The remarks were reported by Iran’s official news agency IRNA.
