In a brief statement, the military said that no further details were immediately available regarding the number of missiles launched or the outcome of the interception efforts. No immediate reports of casualties or damage were issued.

Israeli radio reported that a missile landed near the settlement of Itamar in the northern occupied West Bank without causing injuries or damage. Air raid sirens sounded in Dimona, Beersheba, the Negev region, and Tel Aviv following the detection of missile launches from Iran, while the Home Front Command instructed residents to seek shelter.

The developments came hours after the Israeli military announced airstrikes targeting military sites in western and central Iran. Iranian state television reported explosions in Tehran, Tabriz, and Isfahan.

Earlier, the Israeli military said it had detected 11 missiles launched from Iran toward Israel and stated that all of them had been intercepted by air defense systems.

Iran said the missile attack was carried out in response to an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, describing it as a “warning message.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that any further attacks would be met with a broader and more severe response, adding that Ramat David Airbase near Nazareth had been targeted.

Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin said Iran had “once again chosen the path of escalation,” while Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir affirmed that the military was prepared to respond to any threat.

The escalation coincided with diplomatic efforts led by the United States. Reports indicated that U.S. President Donald Trump sought to contain the situation and urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to retaliate, as part of ongoing efforts to reach an agreement with Tehran.

Trump said both sides had exchanged strikes and argued that further escalation would not serve the ongoing negotiations, while maintaining that an agreement with Iran remained achievable in the near future.

Several countries also implemented precautionary measures. Iran announced the closure of parts of its western airspace, Iraq closed its airspace for 72 hours, and Syria imposed a partial closure in its southern region. Meanwhile, oil prices rose by more than 3%, with Brent crude surpassing $96 per barrel.
