Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Saturday that the pace of joint Israeli-American strikes on Iran will "increase significantly" in the coming days.
According to a statement released following a situational assessment meeting, Katz stated: "The frequency of strikes conducted by Israeli forces and the U.S. military against the Iranian regime and its supporting infrastructure will intensify substantially" starting Sunday.
Katz added: "The campaign led by U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will continue... We will not stop until all war objectives are achieved."
The conflict with Iran entered its 22nd day on Saturday, having erupted on February 28, 2026. The war began when the United States and Israel launched large-scale airstrikes under operations "Epic Fury" and "Lion’s Roar." These operations targeted vital facilities, military installations, and command centers in Tehran and several other cities.
The initial strikes resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, along with several high-ranking officials and commanders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In response, Iran launched operation "True Promise 4," firing hundreds of missiles and drones toward Israel and other regional states, while also closing the Strait of Hormuz, causing a significant spike in global energy prices.
