The IRGC had previously vowed to inflict "severe punishment" on those it labeled the "killers" of the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Republic, Ali Khamenei, whose death was confirmed earlier by Iranian state television.
Media outlets quoted the Revolutionary Guard stating that the "most intense operation" against Israeli and American bases would begin within moments, during the "dawn of Sunday."
