An Iranian source reported on Saturday that several senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and political officials were killed in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran.
Israel announced earlier on Saturday that it had launched what it described as a “preemptive” attack against Iran, while Iran’s Fars News Agency reported three explosions in central Tehran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel and the United States had launched a joint operation aimed at “eliminating the Iranian existential threat.”
He emphasized the need to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
