Iran unveils hypersonic missile ‘Fattah’

AMMAN — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) unveiled ‘Fatah,’ its first hypersonic missile on Tuesday morning, Iranian state media announced. اضافة اعلان

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami, and other high-ranking officials.

According to Iranian media, the hypersonic missile has a range of 1,400 kilometers and has a speech of 13-15 Mach.

Reports claim that the missile is able to bypass and destroy air defense missiles, and use solid propellants to reach high speeds inside and outside earth’s atmosphere, Iranian Fars News Agency reported.

Raisi claimed that the missile was created for security and stability of countries in the region, while sending a message for foreign aggressors to not attack Iran.

What is a hypersonic missile?
A hypersonic missile travels at the speed of Mach 5 or greater, and are maneuverable, giving the ability to dodge defense systems and evade radar.

US, Russia, China, and North Korea have allegedly and successfully tested hypersonic missiles, while details are not as available of the weapon.
