Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman received a phone call from Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, during which they discussed regional developments and efforts to maintain security and stability.

A statement issued by Iran quoted Mousavi as saying:
“We have serious doubts about the enemy’s commitment to its obligations, including the ceasefire. We are prepared to respond forcefully if Iran is attacked again.”

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he would lift sanctions on Iran “if it chooses the path of peace,” downplaying the likelihood of Tehran resuming its nuclear program anytime soon.

Trump spoke of a significant setback to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, saying:
“They are exhausted… They’ve taken blows like no one before. We’ve destroyed their nuclear capabilities, and they can’t move forward any further.”
