A seven-month-old infant died Tuesday morning due to extreme cold in Gaza City.
Medical sources reported that the infant, Shatha Abu Jarad, passed away as a result of the severe winter temperatures.

With her death, the total number of child fatalities in Gaza due to freezing conditions since the start of winter has risen to nine, amid a shortage of aid and lack of heating.
The sources noted that the incident highlights the severity of the humanitarian situation in the Strip, particularly for children and displaced families living in weak, poorly insulated tents unable to withstand the cold.
Residents of Gaza continue to suffer from lack of shelter and medical care, as well as insufficient heating due to fuel shortages, while enduring a stormy, cold, and rainy weather system.
