Arab Parliament Condemns Israeli Statements on Opening Rafah Crossing
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, condemned statements issued by the Israeli occupation regarding opening the Rafah crossing in only one direction, warning that such a move would pave the way for the forced displacement of Gaza’s population.اضافة اعلان

In a statement released Sunday, he stressed that these remarks constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and a blatant breach of the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement, describing them as an attempt to impose new facts on the ground in line with Israel’s plans to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

He noted that any attempt to open the crossing in one direction cannot be considered a humanitarian measure but a systematic policy of mass displacement and coercion of the Palestinian people under bombardment and siege. He cautioned that such steps amount to a war crime and contradict international agreements that affirm the unity of Palestinian territory and the people’s right to remain on their land.

Al-Yamahi added that Israel’s escalating violations of the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement include obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid, targeting areas designated as safe, and expanding military operations inside the Strip. He emphasized that these actions aim to undermine any international effort to ensure a ceasefire and stabilize the humanitarian situation.

He underscored the need to fully enforce a ceasefire, alleviate civilian suffering, ensure unrestricted humanitarian access into Gaza, and begin recovery and reconstruction efforts. He also highlighted the importance of creating conditions that allow the Palestinian Authority to resume its responsibilities in Gaza, laying the foundation for a new phase of security and stability in the region. Gaza, he affirmed, must be prepared for a dignified life for its residents within their homeland—not pushed toward displacement.

Al-Yamahi stressed that the only path to security and stability lies in respecting international agreements, immediately halting the aggression on Gaza, ensuring full and unconditional humanitarian access, and initiating a serious political process leading to the establishment of an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
