The Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, emphasized on Saturday the prevention of any violation or threat originating from Iraqi territory toward neighboring countries, directing the establishment of deterrent mechanisms to prevent the recurrence of any potential breaches.

In a statement, the media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister stated that "Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, chaired an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss security developments in the region."
During the meeting, Al-Zaidi stressed "the prevention of any violation or threat originating from Iraqi territory toward neighboring countries and the formation of a joint security committee to address challenges." He also "directed the implementation of deterrent mechanisms to prevent the recurrence of such incidents or any potential breaches."
Furthermore, Al-Zaidi instructed Iraqi security agencies to enforce the law, enhance security and stability, and carry out their responsibilities in safeguarding sovereignty and maintaining good neighborly relations.
The meeting affirmed the Iraqi Army's readiness to thwart any attempt targeting neighboring countries within Iraq’s regional surroundings. It also reaffirmed Iraq's firm commitment not to allow its territory to be used as a launchpad or transit route for aggression against sisterly and friendly nations, as part of its responsibility to preserve national sovereignty and respect the principles of good neighborliness and international law.
