OCCUPIED WEST BANK – The
mayor of Jenin, Nida lAl-Obeidi, stated on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation forces' raids on the
Jenin governorate have led to the
deterioration of the infrastructure, economy,
and health in the province with losses amounting to an estimated $5 million.

As reported by Al-Mamlaka Tv, the
Jenin Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the losses have reached $24 million in
economic facilities that were significantly affected by the closure of the
Jalameh checkpoint. The city's economy heavily relies on the shopping of
Palestinians from the
occupied territories. The chamber pointed out that there
are around 13,000 industrial facilities operating in the Jenin governorate,
constituting 13.3 percent of the establishments in the province. Additionally,
59.2 percent are commercial establishments (wholesale and retail), and 27
percent belong to the service sector.
On Tuesday, the Director-General of the
Ministry of Health in Jenin stated that the Israeli forces are besieging
hospitals in Jenin and obstructing the arrival of ambulances to the injured.
