NEW YORK –
On Friday, 168 countries at the
UN General Assembly's Third Committee passed a
resolution supporting the right of the Palestinian people to
self-determination. with only 5 opposing nations: Israel, the United States,
Nauru, Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands. Nine countries abstained from
voting.

The decision reiterates the
Palestinian people's right to self-determination, including the establishment of an
independent state of Palestine, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
