The Yemeni Armed Forces said early Sunday that they were carrying out strikes against the Houthis in the capital, Sanaa, and the group’s stronghold in Saada.
A spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces said the forces were targeting what he described as “vital targets,” without providing further details.
The Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV reported that Saudi Arabia had launched an attack on the capital, Sanaa. There was no immediate Saudi confirmation of the report.
The conflict largely subsided following a 2022 truce, but fighting resumed as part of the broader war between Iran and the United States.
Hostilities resumed this year after the Houthis announced a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia in July and began attacking Saudi territory and ships.
Saudi Arabia responded by carrying out airstrikes in Yemen and supporting government forces fighting to push back the Houthis.
