Senior US administration officials held a lengthy, secret meeting at Camp David on Friday to discuss the war with Iran and the conflict in Yemen, Axios reported, amid a growing US military buildup in the region and President Donald Trump’s warning that military operations could resume.اضافة اعلان

The website quoted three US officials as saying that Vice President JD Vance chaired the unusual meeting. They noted that the last similar meeting was held in June 2025, just days before Israel launched a 12-day war against Iran.

According to Axios, the main discussions focused on assessing military and political options related to the stalled conflict with Iran, as well as Saudi pressure to participate in airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen.

The meeting, which was not announced by the White House, was attended by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine.

Axios quoted one of the officials as saying of the crisis in the Middle East: “Things were decided, or at least discussed in depth.”

The unusual meeting came as Trump signaled that military operations against Tehran could resume if an agreement is not reached soon.

On Thursday, Trump said, “I have to make a decision now... either Iran signs the agreement, or it will no longer exist.”

Trump said some believe reaching an agreement with Iran is impossible because Tehran may not honor it, adding that the matter “will end one way or another.” He stressed that Iran “will never have a nuclear weapon” and that the United States “will easily defeat it.”
