Director of Ajloun Tourism Muhammad Al-Deek said that tourism development efforts in Ajloun and the vibrant spring atmosphere contributed to stimulating the tourism increase, in addition to the weekend break from work.

What is more, this year's rainy season provided irrigation that has revived Ajloun’s crops, pastures, and forest and fruit trees, Director of Ajloun Agriculture Hussein Al-Khalidi said.

Environmental preservationActivists called for preserving Ajloun hiking trails and forests to avoid the negative environmental effects of accumulating waste and increased tourist footfall.

A member of the Environment Unites Us Initiative, Fakhri Onaizat, urged all visitors “to assume their responsibility towards the tourist sites and not to leave behind waste or burning fires, to preserve the abundant forests of the governorate, which are considered a national treasure”.

A member of the Green Planet Society for Environmental Protection, Manar Al-Qudah, explained the importance of treating the environment and nature well, especially since Ajloun Governorate is witnessing a “developmental tourism renaissance” requiring the joint efforts of everyone to preserve the benefits that serve to attract tourists from the Kingdom and abroad.
